I was invited back to participate in the 9News Health fair in April. If you have any questions that you may like me to answer while I’m there, send them to me so that I can come prepared. :woo hoo:
Here are a few things that have been happening recently in the “Lyme Wars”. :protest:
“...Lyme Disease is one hell of a battle, the battle to get a diagnosis, a battle to fight the disease, a battle to get your insurance to pay for your treatment, a battle to get the medical establishment to recognize and treat this disease as a very serious disease that it is….”
We are still looking for people to sign the petition in the previous reply posted. Last time I looked the number was a little over 15,000 signatures.
Here’s the link if you like to sign it.
More and more research has been coming out in the media supporting the fact that the 10/28 days of antibiotic treatment for Lyme Disease is insufficient. It is also proving that chronic Lyme Disease does exist. The most recent is a study done on Monkeys and other animals show that the Bb bacterium does persist after treatment.
This is great, explains why IDSA's main contentions that "Lyme bacteria does not persist after the standard 28 day treatment" is incorrect, and how extended treatment in late stage Lyme Disease shows it's effective. (One of a series of blogs that will explain what the study found and does.)
:exactly The big question is why was this study kept from the public for almost 12 years?
If you aren’t familiar with Lyme Disease and how serious it can become, you may want to watch the following video. It is filmed from the husband’s point of view. (Vivid and overpowering) :Crying:
