I am sure there are more people besides me who have diabetes. How about a thread on what works for you and what doesn't? I have done a lot of research over the years and I am treating mine with the right nutrition and gentle exercise only (and of course yoga and meditation LOL) no insulin or drugs. You can find some of the info I gathered on my website

I would love to hear what everybody else has to say. If you have anything to share and/or contribute please post and let me know if it is ok to share on my website.
I just created a page on Facebook

as well, I invite everybody interested in living well with diabetes to join. I am sharing health information not only for diabetics, but small lifestyle changes that can benefit everyone to live a healthier life.
I remember my father saying that green beans are very good for diabetics. Back then I was not diagnosed yet, but I remember his statement as he ate them a lot.
Years ago when I found out that I had diabetes as well I did the test and yes, my blood glucose level goes down almost instantly when eating green beans either raw or cooked. I also drink the cooking water which helps as well.
Green beans provide natural insulin and have healing constituents for the pancreas. Green bean juice (2-4 ounces) daily will greatly help to speed up healing of diabetes. Brussels sprouts rank next to green beans for healing of diabetes.
My green beans from the garden are so delicious that I eat them raw during the summer. In the winter I buy them organic frozen, they have the same effect. You can also put them into your green juice, or smoothie (even better as you retain all the fiber)
Do you like Nutella? (Chocolate Spread)
this one is made with stevia!
Chocolate Spread
R/C/V/Veg/D 5-6 servings
2 cups raw hazelnuts
1 ½ tbl sp pure vanilla extract
¼ cup raw cacao powder
1/8 cup stevia
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
2 tsp coconut oil (makes it extra smooth)
Roast hazelnuts for 10-14 minutes at 400 F. Rub them together in a paper towel or with your hands to get the skins off (I leave some of them on for extra roasted flavor); in a food processor, blend the nuts until they’ve turned to butter, then add all other ingredients and blend until it’s smooth like Nutella!
November is National Diabetes Month, including World Diabetes Day on Nov. 14. Nearly 26 million Americans have diabetes. Left untreated, diabetes can lead to serious complications, such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness and amputation. An estimated 79 million adults have prediabetes, a condition that places them at increased risk for developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Please join my FB page

with the people in your life that have diabetes. I am speaking from experience, being a diabetic myself. However, I am able to control the diabetes with the right nutrition and lifestyle alone. I highly recommend my books "Green Goddess - simple, quick and healthy recipes" as well as "The Yoga of Food - Divine REcipes" (that will be released shortly). Both contain many delicious recipes that are suited for diabetics and non-diabetics alike.
