Seems to make sense although I am not sure it would endear you to the hospital staff.
About 20 years ago my wife had a procedure for which post op was painful and she had pain control gizmo where she had control of the dosage up to a point. She was in a lot of pain so I had a nurse come in. She said there should not be any pain because my wife had called for the max dosage allowed by the machine.
At that point I noticed a liquid running down her arm from where the IV was and asked if that was normal. Apparently the happy juice tube had pulled out of the IV and ran down her arm when she pushed the button.
