Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and can share the holidays with loved ones (family, friends, etc...)

Oh! Just a quick reminder of some potential problems with your pets during this holiday. Namely, be careful not to let your pets eat the bones from the turkey, which can get stuck in the intestines or broken bone pieces can puncture the intestines and cause one very sick pet! Most of the time surgery is needed to remove the bones or repair the damage to the intestines.
Also no table scraps for your pets, high fat foods or a change in diet can cause pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas which aids digestion of food). Pancreatitis is most commonly seen in your pet as lethargy, vomiting and/or diarrhea, significant abdominal pain, fever, and dehydration.
If you do have a concern about your pet through the holiday weekend, we are open on Friday and Saturday and have a veterinarian on call for emergencies.

Good info Amy, thanks! I found this story that says all that, and a little more (sorry it's a bit late, but good info for next year and beyond!)

Thanksgiving Safety Tips for Dog Owners

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
