Kids getting bored? Need some exercise? Join one of our classes and see what else we can do for them - martial arts builds self-confidence, strength, and leadership skills, all good qualities we want to instill in our children! Let us see what we can do for your child.

Now offering classes at Evergreen Rec Center, and Yoga for Mom and Dad!

My daughter attends this program and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering this for your kids. The difference in self confidence and attitude would be enough, but then there is the consideration that your kid can defend themselves in a bad situation if they needed to. Master Roberts and everyone else down there are the greatest!

Agreed. Martial arts has helped our son with ADHD issues. Much better to teach them self control and discipline than put them on medicine!!

7 Reasons Why Your Child Should Practice Martial Arts
Eric C. Stevens

Reason #1: They (and You) Will Get More Active

Reason #2: They’ll Learn to Find Focus and Stillness

In years of martial arts classes, I remember many challenges, breakthroughs, and setbacks. What I do not remember are distractions or gimmicks like you often see at your local health club. At the martial arts studios and boxing gyms where I trained, there was no loud music or flat screen TVs, just hard work and sweat equity.

Reason #3: They’ll Learn to Take Hits

In the martial arts, your child will learn what it is to take a hit, whether that hit is a literal blow or a disappointment like failing a test. Part of life is learning that we all take hits. The key is in learning how best to take that hit and get back up.

Reason #4: They’ll Gain Self Confidence and Self Respect

Reason #5: They’ll Connect Their Mind and Body

To listen to your body is to also see your thoughts and have heightened awareness of your emotional construct. A martial artist is taught to see, feel, and listen - both internally and externally.

Reason #6: They’ll Learn Conflict Resolution

Reason #7: They’ll Learn to Breathe

Those few quotes above are some of my personal favorite reasons, but there's a lot more good stuff in the article. I'm biased, but I think every child should be enrolled in martial arts at some point in their lives and the longer the better, but at least get them some exposure. It is so good for them!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
