Update: We're available for assistance w/injured animals

Update: We are still holding tight at the hospital. We are right on the line of mandatory evacuations and are on standby for immediate evacuation if the winds change. Most of the horses along the Pleasant Park corridor seem to have been safely evacuated yesterday evening - it was impressive how many people helped so quickly to get all of the animals out.

We are still open for urgent calls today and have a veterinarian on the way to Jefferson County Fairgrounds to assist with some burned and injured animals. We would like to extend a HUGE thanks to everyone who helped us and our neighbors evacuate horses and pack belongings yesterday: Melinda Liverant, Shane Holland, Jim Reffel, Pat Bentley, Jeff George, Amy and Troy Murdock, Shannon Harland, and more. We would also like to thank Laura at Bridlewood stables for graciously providing temporary housing for all of our personal and patient horses....including one very pregnant mare on foal watch! Today we were flooded with calls from concerned clients and well wishers offering help and assistance - we are fine for now but MANY MANY THANKS! Hopefully with some air support and cooperative winds we can start unpacking and bring horses back in soon.

Mostly good news: Some signs of containment today (reports at 15%).... smoky in the am here, clear and no wind in the pm....... we will be back to full operations tomorrow. As of now we are planning on continuing with our vaccine clinic on Saturday the 31st (will update people individually if we have to change locations). Anyone currently under evacuation orders can re-schedule as needed. Hoping to move horses back soon. Our thoughts and prayers are for those who have lost homes and animals.... if anyone wants to bring clothes or toiletries on Saturday for the vaccine clinic, we will turn them into a local group collecting for the families that have lost their homes..... please don't bring food..... Thanks!!!!
