Teachers give individual and small-group lessons to children as they are developmentally ready for various kinds of work. Students may then choose to use these materials under the guidance of teachers and support staff who offer encouragement and give points of interest to help children achieve mastery at each level. These lessons and materials are available during both the morning and afternoon work periods.

• Individual learning takes place with each child, as they learn at a different pace.

• There is an emphasis on concrete learning rather than abstract learning - Children experience concepts in concrete
"hands-on" ways.

• Our school is child-centered environment. All materials are easily within the child's reach, placed on shelves at their levels, and
designed to fit a child's hand.

• The children work for the joy of learning and the sense of discovery.

Early Morning - Late Evening Transition Program This program is available for children as they ready for the morning lessons, or after lessons in the afternoon. Children are allowed to choose from a wide variety of self-directed activities, including building with geometric shapes, puppets, art projects, exploring musical concepts, and working with another child if they choose. The Early Morning program is available for half-day students, providing that they arrive at school prior to 8:30 am.

The Kindergarten Program is offered for children who will be attending first grade the following fall term.
The Kindergarten work period allows for in-depth lessons and experiences with more advanced Montessori materials. Kindergarten students also benefit to low student-to-teacher ratios (typically 10-1). If you compare before and after-school care (the reality for many parents), plus the cost of full-day kindergarten at many local schools, our tuition is quite competitive.

The Summer Program emphasizes outdoor activities like gardening and outdoor art. Water activities include working with shells, sand trucks, and a wading pool with spraying water. Face painting, and footprint painting are also popular activities on those special summer days. In addition, drama, art and music "summer camps" are offered, each led by a specialist teacher.
