Breaking News: Two horses within Colorado (Fremont and Weld Counties) have been confirmed to have West Nile Virus. These are the first cases of the year, but unlikely to be the last. The best prevention for West Nile Virus in horses is to vaccinate. If you haven't vaccinated your horses yet, there is still time to do so. Most cases of West Nile Virus have traditionally been seen in July-October. Controlling mosquitoes by reducing standing water can also be helpful.
