If you've not started working on your fitness goals for 2018, don't beat yourself up. It's called human nature. If you're finding it hard to get started because the mountain seems too high, just take a baby step. Before you know it you'll be on top of the mountain.
I'm facing that myself now. I injured my knee so I'm unable to trail run. I can walk and mountain bike so I do that now and that keeps me moving forward until the knee is healed. Something is always better than nothing.
