Tips to Help Prepare Your Home for Winter

01 Oct 2015 10:40 #1 by American Restoration
Winter will be here before you know it. As it gets colder, there are few things you should consider to prevent a disaster in your home.
  • Make sure the hose is disconnected from the house. This will prevent the bib from freezing and filling your home with water.
  • Clean the gutters to help prevent ice dams.
  • Most of us use a fireplace or wood burning stove to stay warm, have the chimney cleaned to ensure the heat will not catch the rest of your house on fire.
If unfortunately you end up having a fire or water damage, call us first. We can help decide if the damage is significant enough to file a claim with your insurance company. 303-816-0068

The National Weather Service is calling for our first snow and freezing temperatures Wednesday night and Thursday.

"Roads are expected to become snow cover and slippery Wednesday night and Thursday, especially in the mountains. Left undrained, above ground irrigation systems will break. Heavy wet snow on leafed out trees may break tree branches."

Please take some time to prepare your home for colder conditions and give us a call if you have any problems - we're here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for you! 303-816-0068
