This year, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office will accept scholarship applications through February 28, 2013. Any permanent legal resident of a Colorado county from the even-numbered list above who plans to enroll in a vocational training program or institution of higher learning in the state of Colorado as a full- or part-time student for the 2013-14 school year is eligible.

Program Philosophy Statement
To carry out our commitment to the Honorary Members of the association, County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC) established a scholarship program in 1978. Since then, this effort has continued as a meaningful expression of the sheriffs’ confidence in and respect for education and training. CSOC considers this an investment in the future and believes that our membership is helping to provide deserving students with an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society as a whole.
County Sheriffs of Colorado, through its honorary membership program, awards approximately thirty $500 scholarships every academic school year.
Way cool. Thanks for the info. Our gdaughter did well with the VFW in one of their last year scholarship programs. It looks like this one does not only apply to Jeffco.
