After five years of a successful summer race series, which has visited eight of the top ski resorts in the country, demand has been strong to run a winter event. Breckenridge was a clear choice to host the inaugural winter edition. Breckenridge is the perfect setting for the first-ever, winter edition of the Kids Adventure Games. With plenty of room for kids’ activities and a kid friendly atmosphere, Breckenridge Ski Resort offers a venue that will allow parents easy access to the lifts, the town’s historic Main Street and abundant slopeside lodging.
Winter Edition Overview:
The kids will only travel on foot. They will go through some deeper un-tracked snow as well as on Lehman's Trail, which is a (green) groomed ski slope. There will not be any mountain biking or water elements, but we will make up for that by building cool obstacles with snow cats, set up ropes, slides, and use other challenges from the summer games. The course will be about 1.5 miles long and will take just about 1 hour - 1.5 hrs. We suggest sturdy sneakers, maybe with gaiters or snow boots. They may try to use 'trackers'. We don't recommend snowshoes, unless it just snowed a lot. A light weight snow pant and the usual winter layering system. A light weight jacket. They will need a helmet, (waterproof) gloves, back pack, first aid kit per team, some water, a light snack. Definitely a change of socks and shoes for afterwards.
