Being a teen is hard enough. But being a teen who lost a loved one or friend can be especially confusing and painful, making the adolescent years that much harder.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, Mount Evans Hospice and the Genesee Experiential Outdoor Center will offer a special adventure experience called “Empowering Teens” for youth ages 11-18 who are dealing with loss. The day will include ropes-course activities and support sessions focusing on personal development, team-building, and coping with grief and loss.

Bereavement counselors from Mount Evans and experienced Outdoor Center staff will oversee the program, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Genesee facility, located at 27570 Stapleton Dr., Golden.

There is no charge for this program. For more information and to register, call Mount Evans at 303-674-6400 or email . .
