The Summer Reading Challenge has now come to an end but you can continue to log your minutes on our website through Aug. 7th. Don't forget to stop by the library to pick up any prizes you did not yet receive!

Here's what is coming up at the Conifer Library in August:

Every Saturday in August - Family Time, 10:45 am - Everyone is invited for stories, singing, rhyming and dancing.

8/11 – Make Something: Mini Zen Garden and Sugar Scrub, 1:00 pm - Find a new outlet for your creativity and make something at the library! Each session features a different craft and all materials provided. Limit 20.

Today's project: Mini Zen Garden and Sugar Scrub

8/12 - LEGO® Play & Build, 1:00 pm - Calling all LEGO® fans! Builders of all ages are welcome to build your own creation. What story will you tell? We provide the LEGO® bricks and LEGO DUPLO® for younger kiddos.

8/14 - The Art House, 6:00 pm - Paint the town any color you'd like with Evergreen artist Chris McAllister. He'll help you discover how to better use the visual vocabulary of shape, value, color, line, texture and edges. Explore these concepts in still life, landscape, portrait and figure paintings. Not an artist? No worries. All skill levels are welcome to learn. Bring in a project you're already working on or join a group project. Work in oil or acrylic paints, just bring your own painting supplies. Our ongoing classes are designed for continuous learning in an open, individualized environment. New students are welcome any time.

8/15- Conifer Meditation Group, 6:30 pm - Guide your mind to a place of peace, happiness, and bliss. The Conifer/Bailey/Evergreen area meditation group is open to anyone interested in meditating regularly in a group setting. No previous meditation experience is required. We don't focus on a particular meditation format, but instead sample a variety of methods as different group members lead a 20-30 minute group meditation at each gathering. Please bring a cushion, mat or pillow if you don't care to sit on a chair. Anyone present can start the session and awaken the group at the end.
Held on the first and third Wednesday of the month.

8/18 – Discovery Play, 11:30 am- Let's play! Families are welcome to enjoy songs, stories and explore hands-on fun with STEM skills.

8/28 – The Art House, 6:00 pm

8/28 - Book Group, 6:30 pm - Discuss great reads. New members always welcome! Tonight we discuss Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann.
