Every Saturday in January- Family Time, 10:45 am - Everyone is invited for stories, singing, rhyming and dancing.
1/5 – LEGO® Contest: Scenes from a Book - Round-Up and Voting Kick-Off, 1:00 pm -LEGO® bricks have been bringing imagination to life for 60 years. Celebrate this two-time "Toy of the Century" by creating a scene from a book. Visit jeffcolibrary.org for contest rules.
1/8- The Art House, 6:00 pm - Evergreen artist Chris McAllister helps you discover how to better use the visual vocabulary of shape, value, color, line, texture and edges. Explore these concepts in still life, landscape, portrait and figure paintings. All skill levels are welcome. Bring in a project you're already working on or join a group project. Work in oil or acrylic paints, just bring your own painting supplies. A limited amount of extra supplies will be available for use. New students welcome.
1/13 - LEGO® Play & Build, 1:00 pm - Calling all LEGO® fans! Builders of all ages are welcome to drop in and build their own creations. What story will you tell? We provide the LEGO® bricks and LEGO DUPLO® for younger kids.
1/13 – Online Safety for Seniors, 1:00 pm - The online world can be perilous for anyone. However, seniors are especially vulnerable. The Department of Homeland Security estimates that seniors are twice as likely as the general population to be defrauded. Learn about the common scams and get tips and tools for helping seniors not become an online victim.
1/19 – Discovery Play, 11:30 am- Let's play! Build STEM skills as you enjoy songs, stories and hands-on fun with your family.
Keep the fun going with 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Get your child ready to read by sharing books together. Read anything, even the same story over and over!
1/22 – The Art House, 6:00 pm
1/26 – LibLab: Puff Rockets, 11:30 am - Aeronautics ahead! Make a squeeze rocket launcher with a juice bottle, clay and straws or construct various paper airplanes. Test your inventions to see how far and how on target they soar.
1/29 – Prize Winning Book Group, 6:30 pm - Discuss great reads. New members always welcome!
