March is just around the corner and you can start preparing for spring by making your own seed balls at the Conifer Public Library! Or if you've been wanting to try your hand at painting come learn some techniques from professional artist Chris McAllister. Here's what's coming up at the library next month:
Every Saturday in March- Family Time, 10:45 am - Everyone is invited for stories, singing, rhyming and dancing.
3/5- The Art House, 6:00 pm - Evergreen artist Chris McAllister helps you discover how to better use the visual vocabulary of shape, value, color, line, texture and edges. Explore these concepts in still life, landscape, portrait and figure paintings. All skill levels are welcome. Bring in a project you're already working on or join a group project. Work in oil or acrylic paints, just bring your own painting supplies. A limited amount of extra supplies will be available for use. New students welcome.
3/9 – Guerrilla Gardening: Seed Balls, 1:00 pm - Get excited about growing something. Seed balls make planting easy and effective and are the main weapon guerrilla gardeners use to spread flowers in bare spots. Create pockets of beauty and habitats for pollinators just by chucking balls full of seeds across your yard. Imagine the fun when wildflowers eventually spring up!
3/10 - LEGO® Play & Build, 1:00 pm - Calling all LEGO® fans! Builders of all ages are welcome to drop in and build their own creations. What story will you tell? We provide the LEGO® bricks and LEGO DUPLO® for younger kids.
3/16 – Discovery Play, 11:30 am- Let's play! Build STEM skills as you enjoy songs, stories and hands-on fun with your family.
Keep the fun going with 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Get your child ready to read by sharing books together. Read anything, even the same story over and over!
3/19 – The Art House, 6:00 pm
3/26 – Prize Winning Book Group, 6:30 pm - Discuss great reads. New members always welcome!
