Early Summer Wildflowers
Pine Valley Ranch Park, Pine Grove
Walk with a Native Plant Master along easy trails to search for blossoms and discover the importance of our native plants to wildlife and humans. Hike/Description: Narrow Gauge trail and coming back Pine Lake Loop. Easy. Flat. Gravel, soil. Walk is 2 hours with frequent stops to look at/discuss vegetation.
Geared for ages 10+.

The Story of Golden's Table Mountains: A modern day geo-hike
North Table Mountain, Golden
**PORTIONS OF THIS PROGRAM WILL HIKE ON DIFFICULT INCLINES**
Join a local geologist as we discover the history of North and South Table Mountains that famously create the northern horizon above Golden, Colorado.
The flat tops of North and South Table Mountains in Golden were once connected and used to form the bottom of an ancient broad stream valley. Hike to the top to get an up close and personal look at these young lava flows. Learn the fascinating story of their volcanic origin and how that ancient valley floor became transformed into the lofty mesas towering over Golden today.
Please meet at the west trailhead off HWY 93
before 8:30am. Please bring plenty of walking and be prepared for a difficult ascent to the mesa top and a steep downhill. The program will start at the trailhead and hike up to the mesa top.
Geared for adults, but youth welcome.

Jeffco Open Space Nature Journal Club: Sketching Wildflowers
White Ranch Park - West, Golden
Do you want to become better at identifying local wildflowers? Drawing is one of the best ways to enhance your observation and plant I.D. skills. In this outing we will examine different shapes of flowers and discover tips for recording them in our journals. Enjoy a potluck picnic lunch midway through the program.
