November events at Conifer Public Library

30 Oct 2019 12:23 #1 by ConiferPublicLibrary
Holidays are coming! (Where did the year go?) Start the season off right with the Holiday Boutique, celebrate family and community with historical presentations, and keep the kiddos entertained over break making their very own fossils – just a few of the things November has in store at the library! :tossleaves:

Every Saturday at 10:45 am – Family Story Time

11/2 – Deck the Halls with Broncos Spirit, 2:00 pm
NFL historian Scott Perry shares fun information about the history of our Denver Broncos. Throughout the day, Conifer Newcomers and Neighbors holds its annual Holiday Boutique. Enjoy crafts, snacks, and story time for extra holiday fun.

11/9 – The Heart of Conifer: Then and Now, 1:00 pm
Conifer has been a lively community for well over one hundred years. Explore interesting tales and photos from our colorful past. Then, choose to take a field trip with us to Bradford Junction, the Magpie Mercantile in the yellow barn and The Well Tavern. (Please plan to drive yourself or carpool with friends.) Presented by the Conifer Historical Society and Museum.

11/10 – LEGO® Play & Build, 1:00 pm
Calling all LEGO® fans! Builders of all ages are welcome to drop in and build their own creations. What story will you tell? We provide the LEGO® bricks and LEGO DUPLO® for younger kids.

11/12 – The Art House, 6:00 pm
Evergreen artist Chris McAllister helps you discover how to better use the visual vocabulary of shape, value, color, line, texture and edges. Explore these concepts in still life, landscape, portrait and figure paintings. All skill levels are welcome. Bring in a project you’re already working on or join a group project. A limited amount of extra supplies is available, so please bring your own oil or acrylic paint supplies. New students welcome.

11/14 – Bad Movie Night, 6:00 pm
Heckling, sarcasm and laughter are encouraged as we watch the best of Hollywood's worst! Popcorn provided (just don't throw it at the screen).
Tonight's movie: The Ice Pirates [PG]™ 1 hr. 34 min.

11/16 – Discovery Play, 11:30 am
Let's play! Build STEM skills as you enjoy songs, stories and hands-on fun with your family. Keep the fun going with 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Get your child ready to read by sharing books together. Read anything, even the same story over and over!

11/25 – Fossil Fun, 3:00 pm
Potentially messy, definitely fun! Learn about fossils, how they are formed and make one in the Library laboratory to take home.

11/26 – The Art House, 6:00 pm

11/26 – Prize-Winning Book Group, 6:30 pm
Discuss great reads. New members always welcome!
