Community Update from Jeffco Public Schools
January 15, 2021

Interim Superintendent Kristopher Schuh, in consultation with the Jefferson County Board of Education, public health, district leadership, and school leadership, has made the decision to return middle school and high school students (grades 6-12) to in-person instruction in a Hybrid model beginning Monday, January 25. A number of factors influenced the decision including current county-level COVID-19 case data, a strong desire of both students and families to return to in-person learning, a larger pool of guest teachers (substitutes) which can improve our ability to sustain operations while responding to virus spread and quarantines, and the improved availability of COVID-19 testing.

More information about individual secondary school schedules and specific return to in-person plans will be provided by each secondary school to families and students over the next week. The Remote Learning option will remain for those students and families who choose not to return to in-person instruction.

We are excited to welcome students and staff back to our buildings and return all grade levels to in-person learning!

Elementary Schools - Return to In-Person Learning Update
Elementary schools will return to 5-days per week in-person learning beginning Tuesday, January 19. Fridays will be instruction days for both in-person and remote learners. Attendance will be expected and recorded for all students. The Remote Learning option will continue for elementary students who chose that option.
