I almost always have a (circular) polarizing filter on my lens when shooting landscapes. It reduces a lot of glare, can increase or reduce reflections and gives the blues (sky) and greens (vegetation) a truer color in my opinion.
When I shoot in black & white mode I will use a red filter.
