What a wonderful amount of moisture we received, thanks ma nature. Precip has ended in the foothills but continues on the eastern Plains but will move east during the day. Many Plains locations receive over 2 inches of rain from this system, and foothill locations received 8-16 inches of snow.
Friday should be warmer and dry with near seasonal temps. Models now indicate a weak diisturbance will move across the state on Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over western CO Saturday morning and drift east during the day. Precip chances for the foothills increase after noon on Saturday, with precip becoming likely by late afternoon and evening. Showers, with isolated thunderstorms will persist into Saturday night as well. Snow level will be 9000-10,000 ft Saturday afternoon, but will lower Saturday night down to near 6000-7000 ft by Sunday morning, so foothill areas above 7000 ft could see a few inches of snow Saturday night.
Sunday looks to be partly cloudy with seasonal temps. Isolated showers should remain west of the Divide in the afternoon and evening. Winds Saturday and Sunday will be easterly, so warming will be limited with an upslope component and RH values will remain relatively high, so combined with recent moisture, pretty low fire danger this weekend.
Next week looks nice early in the week, then another disturbance will bring increased chances for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday. Snow level looks to remain above 10,000 ft at this time.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
