A weak upper level trough over Wyoming is bringing showers and rain to much of northern CO, and will push south later today and Wednesday. As the trough moves south, we will se good chances for showers and steady rain later today, tonight and into Wednesday. Even some upslope flow later tonight and Wednesday morning which could also cause low clouds and fog up agaainst the foothills. There could also be some embedded thunderstorms at times, but this will be more of a steady rain and shower event. The upper trough will move slowly south and eventually retrograde westward later in the week. So rain and shower chances will diminsh by Thursday and into the weekend, as the majority or precipitation will remain west of the Divide. some isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Temps will rebound to near seasonal norms by later this week and weekend as an upper ridge will replace the upper trough. Snow level should remain above 12,000 ft, although some flakes may fall as low as 10,000 ft Tuesday and Wednesday night, but will not likely accumulate.
