wxgeek's weather-Warm and Dry Weather for a while

Upper level ridge currently building over the western US will keep temps well above normal and dry through this coming weekend. We could even see near record temps on Saturday. A weak upper level trough from the Pacific Northwest will pass to the north of CO on Monday and will drag a cold front down from the north, which will cool temps significantly on Monday and into Tuesday. There may be some brief and shallow upslope flow behind the front on Monday night and Tuesday morning which could cause some fog and low clouds along the foothills. There may even be a flake or two above 6500-7500 ft Monday night into Tuesday morning, but that will be about it for this system. Upper ridge then builds back in later next week so temps will climb back to or above seasonal norms the remainder of next week and remain dry.

Overall, long range progs indicate a warm and dry remainder of October for most of CO. I certainly don't see any significant storms on the horizon at this time. Latest CPC climate models continue to indicate above normals temps and below normal precip through December for CO. With an expected return to weak La Nina conditions this Winter, we have a good chance to see below normal snowfall in our area, especially during Fall and Winter. So might as well enjoy the beautiful weather, it may be around for a while.
