UNTIL 7 PM TODAY...
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
STRONG SOUTH WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60
MPH OVER THE EASTERN PLAINS OF COLORADO THIS AFTERNOON. THE
STRONGEST GUSTS WILL OCCUR ALONG AND EAST OF A LINE FROM STERLING
TO FORT MORGAN AND CASTLE ROCK. THE STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL
PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING DUST AND RESTRICTED VISIBILITIES WITH
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS IN OPEN AREAS. IN ADDITION...VERY
HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER WILL BE PRESENT ACROSS THE PLAINS WITH
VERY LOW HUMIDITY READINGS. ALL OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE AVOIDED.
THERE WILL BE A GOOD CHANCE OF SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS OVERNIGHT.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
MORE SEASONAL TEMPERATURES WILL MOVE OVER THE STATE ON MONDAY AS AN
UPPER TROUGH MOVES OVER THE REGION. MOUNTAIN AREAS COULD SEE UP TO A
FEW INCHES OF SNOWFALL. THE PLAINS WILL ALSO HAVE A SLIGHT CHANCE OF
RAIN OR SNOW SHOWERS. LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS WILL LINGER IN THE
MOUNTAINS THROUGH TUESDAY WITH LIGHT ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS. DRY
WEATHER AND A GRADUAL WARMING TREND WILL RETURN FOR THE LATTER HALF
OF THE WEEK AS A RIDGE REBUILDS OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN U.S.
