...LOW HUMIDITY AND INCREASING WINDS EXPECTED TODAY...

.AN UPPER TROUGH WILL BE APPROACHING COLORADO FROM THE PACIFIC
NORTHWEST...INCREASING SOUTHWEST WINDS ACROSS THE STATE...
ESPECIALLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND FAR EASTERN PLAINS.
TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO BE MUCH WARMER THAN NORMAL WITH VERY LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES. THE NORTH-CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS AND
FAR EASTERN COLORADO PLAINS HAVE NOT RECEIVED MUCH RECENT
RAINFALL...SO VEGETATION WILL BE QUITE DRY. THE COMBINATION OF SUNNY
SKIES...LOW HUMIDITIES AND GUSTY WINDS WILL CAUSE CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS.

...RED FLAG WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR
WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH VALLEYS...

* AFFECTED AREA...FIRE WEATHER ZONES 211...212...213...214...
217 AND 218.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL INCREASE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND
HUMIDITIES WILL BE VERY LOW THROUGH MID EVENING. CONDITIONS
WILL SLOWLY IMPROVE AFTER SUNSET.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ON
RIDGETOPS.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 TO 11 PERCENT.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY WILL ALLOW FOR ANY
FIRE THAT STARTS TO SPREAD QUICKLY AND HAVE EXTREME FIRE
BEHAVIOR.
