...HOT...DRY...AND BREEZY CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH
SATURDAY...

.HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRING HOT AND DRY AIR OVER COLORADO TODAY AND
SATURDAY. MEANWHILE A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE PASSING NORTH
OF COLORADO WILL INCREASE THE WINDS TODAY. THIS COMBINATION WILL CREATE
VERY HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER IN AND NEAR THE NORTHERN COLORADO
MOUNTAINS. IT WILL REMAIN WARM AND DRY TONIGHT WITH POOR HUMIDITY
RECOVERY IN MANY MOUNTAIN AREAS. SATURDAY WILL SEE NEAR RECORD
HEAT WITH VERY LOW HUMIDITIES... ALTHOUGH WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
LIGHTER.

* TIMING...THE GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY ARE EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP BY NOON TODAY. IT WILL REMAIN WARM WITH POOR HUMIDITY
RECOVERY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS IN MOST AREAS TONIGHT... THEN NEAR
RECORD HEAT IS EXPECTED WITH VERY LOW HUMIDITIES AGAIN ON
SATURDAY.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AS LOW AS 5 PERCENT.

* IMPACTS...THE INCREASING WINDS...COMBINED WITH THE WARM AND
DRY CONDITIONS COULD CREATE EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR ON ALREADY
EXISTING FIRES AND MAKE ANY NEW IGNITIONS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL
WITH POSSIBLE HIGH RATES OF SPREAD.

* THUNDERSTORMS...ISOLATED TO SCATTERED STORM COVERAGE THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING...HIGHEST COVERAGE IN MOUNTAINS. SOME

OUTFLOW WINDS UP TO 50 MPH.

* IMPACTS...NUMEROUS NEW FIRE STARTS WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS

LITTLE IF ANY RAINFALL. RAPID FIRE GROWTH WILL BE POSSIBLE DUE
TO EXTREMELY DRY FUELS AND GUSTY OUTFLOW WINDS.
