...VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER AGAIN TODAY ESPECIALLY IN THE
MOUNTAINS...
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
IT WILL BE ANOTHER VERY HOT AND DRY DAY ACROSS COLORADO WITH NEAR
RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP OVER
THE MOUNTAINS THIS AFTERNOON...AND MAY SPREAD ONTO THE PLAINS LATE
IN THE DAY. THE STORMS WILL PRODUCE LITTLE OR NO RAIN...BUT COULD
PRODUCE DRY LIGHTNING AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH. WHILE THERE
WILL BE A BIT MORE MOISTURE TODAY...THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL WORSEN
THE FIRE DANGER.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY
IT WILL REMAIN HOT THROUGH THE PERIOD WITH TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE
SEASONAL NORMALS. THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS
EACH AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE BEST CHANCE OF STORMS WILL OCCUR
ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...THEN DRIER CONDITIONS RETURN FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE PERIOD.
THE STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHTNING WITH
JUST BRIEF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL. DUE TO THE PERSISTENT HOT
AND DRY CONDITIONS OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND NORTHEAST COLORADO...A
SIGNIFICANT RISK OF WILDFIRE STARTS AND EXTREME WILDFIRE BEHAVIOR
WILL CONTINUE.
