wxgeek's weather-Cooler Today, Warmer, few storms for wknd

Cold front roared across northern CO yesterday, bringing some low clouds and cooler temps for today. Upper ridge remains anchored in AZ which is keeping monsoonal moisture locked over AZ, NV and southern CA. For the mreainder of this week and into the weekend, expect warmer temps back to seasonal norms, and isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms, mostly over the higher terrain along and west of the Divide.

Models forecats the upper ridge to slowly migrate eastward next week moving back into NM and western TX by the end of next week. If this pattern occurs, we should see increased monsoon moisture and better chances for precip by late next week and into next weekend.

The current pattern is resembling an early Fall pattern with the jestream currently diving into the eastern U.S.
