Red Flag conditions will intensify today with a Red Flag Warning in effect from Noon today through 6 AM Monday. Southwest winds will increase this afternoon and persist into tonight, becoming west to northwest after midnight when cold front passes. Pacific storm will move into western CO tonight bringing snow to the mountains west of the Divide. Amounts of 2-5 inches possible with highest amount on west facing slopes west of Vail Pass. Cold front will move through CO tonight after midnight, so cooler temps on tap for Monday, although breezy west winds will persist. No precip east of the Divide expected with this system, so fire danger will remain elevated through the upcoming week.

Weak system will bring some light snow to the mountains west of the Divide Wewdnesday night into Thursday, but models now keep all precip west of the Divide, so continued dry conditions for our foothills and Plains through Friday, with temps back above seasonal norms for most of the coming week, with breezy westerly winds at times.

Longer range models not in very good agreement, so not high confidence in storm for next weekend, but right now our best hope for snow will come next weekend, mostly Sunday into Monday as a system drops from the Gulf of Alaska into the Inter-Mountain west. Hopefully this system does not die out in the models as nearly all system have done this year so far.

West Coast continues to receive all the precip with another strong system now affecting CA. Serious flooding is expected by later today with mud and land slides very possible. Very impressive rainfall totals this past week, with 10-15 inches of rain in some areas since last Thursday, along with 5-10 feet of snow at higher elevations. Anyone wanting good ski conditions needs to head much farther west.
