Red Cross telethon scheduled for Thursday

With tens of thousands of Colorado residents already affected by the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history and more dry weather on the horizon, more people than ever need help. The Red Cross is one of the organizations working to get aid to those people.

To help get funds the Red Cross is having a phone bank fundraiser from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday to support efforts to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from wildfires in Colorado.

The spot fire creeping down the hill on the south side of the river is now about 50 yards from the south bank of the Platte. They are watching closely to see if it jumps the river and spots. I still don't know WHERE along the river these guys are talking about.
