LA PLATA COUNTY, Colo. — An Amber Alert was issued Saturday evening for two young sisters who are believed to have been taken by their mother, who has lost her parental rights.
Kallisha Hughes, 30, allegedly took Kiarah Hughes, 6, and Brooklyn Hughes, 3, from their legal guardians’ home in La Plata County, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said. The suspect may be headed to Alto, New Mexico.
Kallisha Hughes may be angry, mentally unstable and under the influence of meth, CBI said. The suspect has a criminal history and a history of violence, officials said. Kallisha Hughes may be driving a 2003 primer gray Chevrolet Malibu with Colorado license plate 035-PCQ.
