CDOT I-70 Conditions

Headed to or from the mountains on I-70? We are strongly recommending chains, snow tires or 4-wheel-drive (with good tires) for all vehicles. Please drive with care and keep your speed low, as there was at least one incident already this morning on Floyd Hill. Here, our crews are echelon plowing between Silverthorne and Eisenhower Tunnel. This is a technique in which snowplows are staggered across all lanes to pass a ridge of snow to the right with each truck and clear all lanes at once. Give them space to do their job and please avoid passing on the right. Safe travels, everyone.
