Law enforcement responds to possible hostage situation in Pine

Several law enforcement agencies are responding to a possible hostage situation on Tejas Avenue in Pine.

A High Timber Times staff member saw Park County and Jefferson County squad cars converging at Pine Country Feed shortly before 5 p.m. Friday. Jeffco Sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said law enforcement was staging there but had no further information.

"It was reported to us that there is some kind of hostage situation," she said.

Man in custody after hostage situation was reported in Pine

Jeffco sheriff’s deputies have apprehended one person in connection with an incident in Pine late Friday afternoon that initially was reported as a possible hostage situation.

“The situation is over, he’s in custody, no one’s been injured,” sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said at 5:45 p.m., adding that no further information would likely be available before a report was processed.
