Dear I-70 Mountain Corridor Stakeholder,
We wanted you to be aware of a memorial procession heading west on I-70 the afternoon of Thursday, July 9, for the Flight for Life pilot who passed away last week.
The procession, which will include Flight for Life helicopters and emergency service vehicles, will begin at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood and is scheduled to pass by the C-470 interchange at about 1:15 p.m. The procession will continue through the mountain corridor en route to Summit County with emergency service vehicles being staged in memorial along the way.
Bridges along the route and the Eisenhower Johnson Memorial Tunnels will also be draped with flags.
This procession will cause delays in both directions of I-70 through the mountain corridor, so if your travel plans tomorrow afternoon will take you through this area, we encourage you to be patient.
