From Melanie:
There is an accident on northbound 285 just past the Indian Hills on ramp. Several cars are involved. Multiple officers are on scene. As I passed by going home, it looked like there was smoke starting from one of the vehicles. Expect backups soon

According to what I heard the chase started in Teller County and speeds at times were over 90 miles an hour.

Will watch the news at 6:00 and see if they report anymore information.

Park County Sheriff's Office
PRESS RELEASE-HIGH SPEED PURSUIT-September 24, 2015

On September 23rd at about 3:30 pm Fairplay Police Officer Zerby
aired that he was in pursuit of a black motorcycle traveling northbound on US Highway 285 near Fariplay.

As the pursuit continued northbound on US Highway 285 toward Jefferson, Fairplay Police discontinued their pursuit of the motorcycle and aired the description of the motorcycle and rider. Park County Sheriff's Sergeant Wohlers intercepted the motorcycle as it entered Grant followed by Sheriff Wegener who assumed command of the incident. Sheriff Wegener directed Corporal Carrigan, Deputy Lopez and Deputy MacGeorge to set up a road block near Cline Drive in an attempt to stop the motorcycle before it reached the school. The road block proved to be ineffective in stopping the motorcycle. Park County Communications notified Jefferson County that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and was headed into their jurisdiction.

Sheriff's Deputies pursued the black motorcycle into Jefferson County. Deputies reported the motorcycle reached speeds of 115 mph. Sheriff Wegener stood down three patrol units as they entered Jefferson County due to the higher volume of traffic and to reduce the potential for a crash.

The motorcycle entered Morrison and crashed into a guard rail near mm 247. Park County Deputies took him into custody, the suspect was identified as Jordan Anthony ALARID, 22, of Northglenn, CO.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies, Morrison Police and the Colorado State Patrol arrived at the scene shortly after the arrest. ALARID was taken by ambulance to a metro area hospital where he was cleared and released back to the Park County Sheriff's Deputies. He has currently bonded out of the Park County Jail. He has been charged with: Vehicular eluding a class 5 Felony, reckless endangerment, a class 3 misdemeanor, reckless driving a class 2 misdemeanor, speeding and failing to drive in a single lane.

Information was aired during the pursuit that ALARID matched the description of a possible homicide suspect out of Jefferson County. Deputies were able to determine that ALARID was not the homicide suspect.

Sheriff Wegener said, "The Officers did a great job of capturing him.

Here is what 9 News is reporting hope they throw the book at him!!!!!!!!

Glad no one else was hurt (at least they did not say anyone was hurt).

I heard through the grape vine that he said he didn't stop because he did not think he did anything wrong. What a freak I guess going 115 is nothing.
