Per cosmiccowboy55: Wildland Fire Shawnee. This is located near the gravel pit to the south side of Shawnee.. USFFS and Platte canyon fire are on scene. Structure protection is n place. A notice will be going out soon to nearby residents. Winds on site are at 45 mph.
Elk Creek has been toned out to have an Engine stand by at station 2 in Platte canyons district. Command of the Fire has been passed along to USFS.
Update from cosmiccowboy55 last night: Platte canyon is standing down their Structure engines. The Chief of the department will remain with the wildland crew.
