Traffic Alert for Tomorrow!

Presidential candidate Donald Trump will be visiting the Jefferson County Colorado Fairgrounds this Saturday, Oct. 29. For residents, visitors, and motorists in the area, please note the following:

• Traffic delays should be expected between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the area of US Highway 6 (6th Avenue) & Indiana Street, including the Frontage road on the north side of the fairgrounds (in yellow on the map).
• Traffic arriving for the event will be directed south on Indiana Street to the southeast entrance of the fairgrounds (in red on the map).
• Local traffic accessing businesses and residences west of the fairgrounds will be directed to use the frontage road.
• The fairgrounds will remain open to the public for voter registration and ballot drop off; please use the frontage road for this purpose.
• Foothills Animal Shelter will be open for regular Saturday hours; please use the frontage road to access the shelter.
• Traffic on Indiana Street and the frontage road will be temporarily stopped when the candidate’s motorcade arrives. The stoppage is expected to occur for a short period of time between 11:30 a.m. – noon.
• Traffic on Indiana Street may experience temporary stoppages after the event, as traffic is being directed out of the fairgrounds. These stoppages are expected to occur between 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

We encourage residents, visitors, and motorists to be patient and exercise caution if traveling in the area of the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Saturday between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
