Upon arrival on the scene, fire crews reported the house was fully involved and firefighters made an attack on the fire from the exterior. All of the residents of the home had evacuated safely and there were no injuries. Fire fighters and the residents have not yet accounted for all of the pets from this house.
Nine (9) pieces of Fire, Rescue, and EMS equipment and twenty-seven (27) emergency response personnel responded to the call. Occupants of the home discovered the fire and called 911. The home is a total loss. Investigators continue to work at the scene to determine the cause.
Elk Creek Fire Rescue reminds all citizens to maintain a working smoke alarm in their place of residence and to have and practice a home escape plan. Smoke alarms can provide early notification when seconds count.
