WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS BELOW

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...which is in effect
from 11 AM to 6 PM MST Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 215 and 216 below 7500 feet.

* Timing...Fire Danger will increase by noon on Tuesday and
continue into early Tuesday Evening.

* Winds...West to Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Relative Humidity...as low as 14 percent.

* Impacts...If a fire starts, it will be capable of spreading
rapidly through grasses and brush due to the strong winds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and very warm temperatures
will contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* Impacts...If a fire starts, it will be capable of spreading
rapidly through grasses and brush due to the strong winds.

Strong and gusty winds are already occuring in and near the foothills this morning. Throughout the day west winds will pick up from west to east across the Plains, and combined with low relative humidity, dry fuels, and very warm temperatures will result in critical fire danger.
