...DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUE IN AND NEAR THE
FOOTHILLS TODAY
...

.Very warm and dry air remains over Colorado today. The winds will
be a little lighter in general, but breezy conditions with low
humidities are still expected in most foothill areas and in some
locations on the plains near the mountains. Gusty winds are most
likely to spread off the foothills in Boulder and northern
Jefferson counties, and in locations just outside of those
counties. Conditions will be worst this afternoon, and improve
quickly this evening.

EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE FRONT RANGE
FOOTHILLS AND THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF BOULDER AND JEFFERSON
COUNTIES
...FIRE WEATHER ZONES 235...236...AND 239...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...which is in effect
from noon today to 7 PM MDT this evening.

* Affected Area...The Front Range foothills and the lower
elevations of Boulder and Jefferson counties...Fire Weather
Zones 215...216 and 239.

* Timing...Conditions will be worst this afternoon, and improve
quickly this evening.

* Winds...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity...as low as 11 percent.

* Impacts...Fires will start easily and may spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
