Winter Storm Warning

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
947 AM MDT Tue Mar 28 2017

.A winter storm will slowly move across Colorado today and
tonight bringing snowfall heavy at times to the Front Range
mountains and foothills, and light to moderate rainfall to the
plains of northeast Colorado. Heaviest snowfall is expected to
occur in the foothills west of I-25
and over higher elevations of
the Palmer Divide in Douglas County where up to a foot of snow
could pile up by Wednesday morning. Foothill areas north of
Interstate 70 and east facing slopes of the Front Range mountains
could receive anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of snow. Snowfall is
expected to be heaviest this evening, and then diminish Wednesday
morning
with the storm system moving away from Colorado.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING
TO 6 AM MDT WEDNESDAY
...

* TIMING...Snow will become widespread Tuesday evening and may
be heavy at times overnight, then diminish during the day
Wednesday.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...5 to 12 inches by early Wednesday
morning, with the heaviest amounts likely from Bailey and
Conifer across southern Jefferson.


* WIND/VISIBILITY...Heavy snowfall and northeast winds at 15 to
25 mph will reduce visibilities to less than a mile at times.

* IMPACTS...Roads will become slushy or snowpacked during the
heaviest snow Tuesday night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet...and ice are expected or occurring. This will make travel
hazardous or not impossible at times.
