Accident at the Post Office in Pine

Press release from Elk Creek Fire Department:
At approximately 3:00 pm, April 27, 2017, Elk Creek Fire Department was called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the United States Postal Service Office at 187 Mt Evans Blvd, Pine, CO 80470.

Upon arrival Elk Creek Fire Department personnel found a white sport utility vehicle that had driven through the front wall of the building, and was now stopped with the forward half of the vehicle inside the building.

The post office was open and patrons were inside the building at the time of the accident. One person inside the building reported being struck by the vehicle or debris. The driver reported no injuries. Elk Creek Fire - Medical personnel examined both parties at the scene, discovered no significant injuries and released them.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Elk Creek Fire Department Deputy Chief Jacob Ware said, “Everyone involved was very lucky. This accident certainly had the potential for serious injury.”
