I-70 Closures due to adverse weather & accidents

CLOSED- WB- I-70 at Empire Junction, MM 232, due to adverse conditions. Expect extended closure.

CLOSED- EB I-70 at Silverthorne, MM 205, due to multiple spun out vehicles. No estimate on reopening at this time.

CLOSED- EB I-70 at Vail Pass, MM 184, due to multiple spun out vehicles.

OPEN- EB I-70 at Silverthorne, MM 205. Chain and Traction Laws in place.

CDOT and @CSP_News are working as fast as possible to move spunout vehicles and jackknifed semis on I-70 Mtn Corridor. Some plows stuck in traffic as well. No ETA, will depend on weather conditions. Please drive safe. We will update when conditions change.

For those heading up the I-70 Mtn Corridor, make sure you have the following BEFORE you head up: full tank of gas, snacks, water, blanket, chains and tires with at least 1/8” of tread (should cover top of George Washington’s head).

CLOSED- EB I-70 at Vail Pass, MM 180, due to adverse conditions. Expect extended closure.
EB CMVs- There is no truck parking east of MM 133 or in the Vail Valley. Trucks waiting out a Vail Pass closure should not proceed past Dotsero, exit 133.
