Code Red Alert Issued After ‘Multiple’ Deputies Injured In Shooting
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – A code red alert was issued in Douglas County after a shooting Sunday morning in which “multiple” deputies were injured and possibly some civilians as well.
An emergency call came in just after 6:30 a.m. about a domestic violence incident at Copper Canyon Apartments. The shooting took place at the apartment building, which is located near County Line Road between Colorado Boulevard and University Boulevard.
Highway C-470 was closed due to the police activity and investigation.

A Code Red was sent out regarding this incident. Any citizens in the affected area are instructed to shelter in place, avoid windows and stay away from exterior walls.
Due to this incident, the following agencies are on accident alert. Douglas County, Parker Police Department, Lone Tree Police Department, Castle Rock Police Department and Colorado State Patrol.
UPDATE, we have multiple deputies down, no update on their status. The scene remains active and please avoid the area.

UPDATE 0513 this morning deputies responded to he Copper Canyon Apartments for a Domestic Disturbance. During the Investigation, shots were fired and multiple deputies were injured. No status on the deputies and no status on civilian injuries. Please avoid this area.
