Hwy 285 Closing at Windy Point

Five separate vehicles have slid into the guardrail or media at or near Windy Point, and a first responder's vehicle that was helping to block an accident from traffic. The highway is getting shut down at the Stop 4 Gas until they can get cars cleared out and plows through.

TRACTION LAW- NB/SB US 285 between Pine Junction and Morrison. Passenger vehicles are required to have snow or mud/snow tires, use chains/alternative traction devices or be a 4WD/AWD vehicle.

CHAIN LAW- NB/SB US 285 between Pine Junction and Morrison, MM 229-250. Chains or alternative traction devices (ATDs) required for all CMV, including buses and vans of 16+ capacity.

Please slow down and move over for emergency vehicles @CSP_Golden @jeffcosheriffco & @ICFPD were on scene of traffic collision earlier this afternoon on Hwy 285 at Windy Point. Road conditions may be poor on your drive home

3 vehicles cleared. One car still needing tow and the sheriff's vehicle that was hit is on scene still (unclear if it needs tow).

Last tow has just shown up, LE expects to be on scene for about 5 more minutes as they clear out the last vehicle.
