No Sheriff issued County-Wide Fire Ban

No current Sheriff issued county-wide Fire Ban for Park County at this time. However your fire district may have issued a fire district burn ban. County residents must call 719-836-4160 to determine if your fire district is in a burn ban.

The difference between a Sheriff issued County wide burn ban and a Fire District burn ban is when the Sheriff, after discussing extreme fire dangers with all Fire Chiefs determines to stop all outside burning. He does so as the Fire Marshall for the County. When Fire danger levels are high but not extreme the Fire Marshall will not interfere with day to day burn restrictions of each fire district.
