...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR
WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MOUNTAINS, FOOTHILLS, AND
PALMER DIVIDE
...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag Warning FOR WIND, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, AND GUSTY OUTFLOW WINDS FROM POTENTIALLY DRY THUNDERSTORMS, which is in effect until 8 PM MDT this evening.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 212...214...215...216...
217...218 and 241.

* Timing...From noon today through 8 pm MDT this evening

* Winds...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 13 percent.

* Impacts...Warm temperatures, low humidities and gusty winds will cause vegetation to dry out and make dangerous fire behavior possible. Rapid growth and spread of fires can be anticipated under these conditions. New fire starts and strong, shifting winds will also be possible from dry thunderstorms. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged if not prohibited. Check with local authorities on any burn bans in effect.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
