Fire activity was mostly within the perimeter. The fire is currently estimated at 1522 acres.The increase of 100 acres occurred primarily on the western and northern flanks of the fire. Containment remains at 0%. Line construction occurred along portions of the fire's northern flanks. Aerial resources assisted handcrews throughout the day as needed. A total of 130 personnel are currently assigned to the fire.

From earlier this evening (acreage now over 1,500)Sunday morning, Rocky Mountain Type 1 Incident Management Team took over command of the fire. Firefighters will work to keep the fire from moving south and west of Teller County Road 111 to help reduce the impact to any structures.
At a community meeting held Sunday at 10 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said the fire has NOT reached anything in Park County, nor are the Fossil Beds in the path of the fire. Colorado Springs firefighters are in the area assisting local crews with two Type 6 engines and a battalion chief.
The Teller County Sheriff's Office have placed the following subdivisions on mandatory evacuations: Slater Creek Road, Eagle Crest Ranch at Slater Creek, Sunrise Ridge, Chateau West, Highland Meadows, Dome, Rock Ranch, Living Forest Estates, High Chateau Ranch, Lookout Point Road, B Lazy M Ranch, Deer Mountain Road, and Ranch Resorts north of Evergreen Station. The Park County Sheriff's Office released information Saturday afternoon that the fire was moving across county lines. Mandatory evacuations are in place for: Park Ridge, Doe Valley, Pike Meadow, Four Mile Ranch, Olson Slater Creek, and Ponderosa subdivisions between 8826 County Rd 100 and County Rd 102 and between CR 71 and the Teller County Line.
Pre-evacuations have been ordered for all residents from Evergreen to High Chateau along Teller County Road 11, as well as from Teller County Road 1 to Highland Meadows and west of Teller County Road 1 to County Road 112. They are also under pre-evacuation for La Montana Mesa, Las Brisas, Ranch Resorts behind Evergreen station, Evergreen Station and Lazy BM Ranch, Sanborn Ranch, as well as east of Teller County Road 11 and east of Teller County Road 1.
For those who have been evacuated, deputies asked residents to prepare to stay evacuated for at least the next 24 to 48 hours.

In the meantime, more resources are arriving on the #ChateauFire. Size is now estimated at 1328 acres based on an infrared flight that occurred last night. The decrease in acreage is a more accurate reflection of the actual fire perimeter.
At this time, firefighters have been briefed and are heading to the fire.

Good morning, thanks for bearing with us, we are trying to get updates out to you as soon as possible. The sheriff wants us to stress to everyone about the extreme dangers of the dry weather we have throughout our community.
Please continue to call in reports of fireworks, campfires and charcoal grills in your area. We will be getting out mandatory tickets with a fine of $1,000 as well as in the Forestry area so please continue to call these in to the Teller County Sheriff's Office.
And we just want to say once again what a great job Four Mile Fire District is doing, way to go Chief Lowe and team! Please keep our firefighters and First Responders in your thoughts and prayers and remember to be safe out there!

The Chateau Fire is now 15% contained as of 7:00 Monday night. More information will be posted as soon as it's available.
In response to the questions received in the community meeting about the spot fire, the information is as follows:
Early this afternoon, fire behavior on the northeast portion of the Chateau Fire increased. The fire spotted across Highland Meadows Drive. Firefighters quickly responded along with single engine air tankers. Multiple loads of retardant were dropped. Helicopters will support continued firefighting efforts in this area with bucket drops as needed. Excellent progress has been made, and fire personnel continue to work on securing the half acre spot.

TELLER COUNTY - A campfire that was left unattended sparked the High Chateau Fire that burned more than 1,400 acres and destroyed at least 8 homes and numerous outbuildings, according to a release from the Teller County Sheriff's Office.
David Michael Renfrow, 23, Kegan Patrick Owens, 19, and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with First Degree Arson (a class three felony) for their alleged roles in starting the fire.
Each of them faces 4 to 8 years in prison and fines between $3,000 and $750,000.
