Rolling road closures, detours today between 11a to 2p for Colorado Classic Race

Reminder that most routes to Denver and Evergreen will be impacted today between 11am-2pm due to the Colorado Classic Bike Race. Please see the estimated closure times and detours in the maps below for details.

They just announced 30 minutes to race time over the scanner. You can listen to race command on Jeffco Broadcastify - the Mountain Area Sheriff and Fire Departments and West Metro channels.

For those traveling in Jefferson County between now and 2:30 pm, Google Maps shows the #CoClassic18 bike race route. Currently, cyclists are climbing Lookout Mtn. They’ll be coming down Hwy 40 shortly.

*From Lookout Mtn, they will come down US 40 to 93 to CO 74.

The racers are about ready to turn onto 74 from 93. Edit to update: the back of the pack just got onto 93 so all riders are clear of US 40.

Just spoken over the scanner: traffic is backing up on CR 73 northbound and cars are beginning to turn around and head back southbound which is a problem because they are in the racing lanes. Please if you are waiting on 73 do NOT turn around! Stay and wait for the riders to get past for their safety.

#CoClassic18 End of race just passed Hwy 73/Hwy 74 intersection in downtown Evergreen, headed south on Hwy 73. Hwy 74 is currently open for approx 30 minutes until the race comes back through. Hwy 73 is currently closed from Hwy 74 to Conifer.
