Pile Burning in Pike National Forest January 30

The US Forest Service, Pike National Forest, South Platte Ranger District is planning on starting ignitions this morning burning piles on the Payne Gulch RX Unit depending on conditions.

Test fire should start around 1000 hrs.

Smoke maybe visible throughout the day in the area.

There a 2 pile burns that will be visible in the district today.
Platte Canyon WFM will be conducting a burn in the Deer Creek Valley Ranchos and The Pike National Forest will be conducting a burn near the Payne Gulch Trailhead.

The South Park District completed another 150 piles today in the Round Mountain project area, approximately 6 miles NW of Lake George. Crews will return tomorrow to continue pile burning there.
